r e f i n i n g - t h e - s i l v e r

i discovered self check-out machines at the Maxi and Cie. yesterday.
it gives me a real sense of accomplishment to be able to check out my groceries by myself. it's like playing house all over again, brings me back to the days when i would pretend-scan groceries on my mother's ironing board and hand them to my sister to put in bags to bring "home" and "cook". or like playing cashier where i would "buy groceries" for my sister to ring up the bill and then switch roles. the things you do when you're 7 years old.
but then the novelty wears off and i think soon i'll be very sick and tired of hearing those machines drone "please scan your item" "please put your item in the bag" over and over again. for the next little while at least i'll be the one volunteering to get groceries.
